Goodbye .....Two Thousand Ten

Though 2010 brought me a Master's degree, a new home and my baby Savannah, i'm not too sad to see it go. I'm ready to see what 2011 is going to bring me, even if it includes the big 3-0! With new years just around the corner, I started thinking what resolutions do I want to make that i will end up breaking? hmm... so i decided that this year I will not make any resolutions or any promises that i will not fulfill. But what I am making are decisions. Decisions to make me a better person. January 1st starts the new me and I can't wait to meet her.

While perusing through several home decor blogs (like Mustard & Sage and Coco + Kelley) I've caught the decorating virus. My home feels like it's home, but I want when people come over to say "oh yeah this has Shannon written all over it". I like my living room to be modern yet livable (oh and black and white cat friendly). My place is very eclectic yet comfortable. There's really no rhyme or reason to my decor except it's me. I've got this great idea for my bedroom. My walls that are deep plum and my vintage wood nightstand/chest scream for a woodsy decor. I really want resin deer mounts and anything that looks earthy but modern at the same time. I've found a few items from Z Gallerie that would look perfect in my bedroom as well as my white, espresso and modern living room. With Christmas just a few days away, perhaps santa will sneak some of these into my house, or at least a gift card in my stocking!

Dreaming of....a Winter Wonderland

With christmas being 6 days away, i'm still not quite in the christmas spirit. We went to Oklahoma this weekend for early christmas with my grandparents. Oklahoma looked and felt like a winter wonderland. All we needed was a little snow with the crisp wind that blew through and it would have been perfect. Now that i'm back in Texas, I see that it's supposed to be around 70 on christmas, so i'm looking for any inspiration in hopes of having a white christmas in Dallas. Here's to waking up to a winter wonderland!

Livin' la Dolce Vita.

With Thanksgiving over, it's time to get ready for Christmas! Beside putting up my white tree with black and pink ornaments, i've already purchased a little early present for myself. I hit up my favorite little place, you've probably heard of it, Nordstrom's Rack. Yeah you have, of course. As i wander through the magical aisles of shoes, but what to my wandering eyes did appear? Then these beautiful khaki leather platform Dolce Vita's that came screaming out of their box buy me buy me. And since they were half their normal price, i thought these would be the greatest early present to myself! Has anyone else found an early present lurking under their tree?

Butter Beer Makes a Birthday Better.

Friday we celebrated Tiffany's 10th anniversary of her 21st birthday. We started out the night at Greenhouse with enchilada soup, chicken taco's, Diet Cubra Libre's and Butter Beer the adult version (we had a friend meet us after she saw Harry Potter). We then partied our way to Sweetwater for frozen margarita's and buttery nipple birthday shots. Sadly i didn't get a pic of my new shirt (oversized cobalt blue sweater), but i will soon! It was a good night, good food, good drinks, but great friends!

Closeted Dreams.

Back in July i moved into my very own place. By very own place, I mean I purchased my first home. It's a lovely place however I am drowning in piles of unorganized chaos. My first goal (one that doesn't require a lot of money if any at all) is to organize my closet. My closet is huge and for 1 person its more than enough space. I tried to organize it but stuff just seems to pile up. My goal by Sunday is to have it organized by work, going out, lounging around and workout. My shoes and purses will finally be organized. Here's some befores.....

See it's messy. I can't wait for it to look like Nicky Hiltons, or even the Carrie Bradshaw. A girl can dream right. Lets hope the next post or two will be a completed and highly organized closet! Then i can sleep better at night. No really, i will!

Falling for you

As i wait with anticipation for the arrival of this glorious weather,

I get excited thinking about sweaters, blazers, heavy cardigans, tights and boots. I can finally break out the large oversized sweaters i've been hoarding every year. I wish fall could be here all year round. Lets by pass summer (who could argue that) and stay at a lovely 60 degrees all day everyday!
