It seems to me that all the questionable choices in fashion that I made back in the 90's are coming back to remind me I'm not getting any younger.  **EX: white platform sneakers, Dr. Marten sandals & mary janes, Old Navy Anoraks, etc.  (As i type this I swear I can hear the sounds of the Cranberries & Lisa Loeb CD's playing off in the distance)

And as glad as I am to see Dr. Martens & overalls coming back, I'm still on the fence about rocking a pair of Birkenstocks.  I remember wearing a knock off pair back in the day, but am still a little leery of purchasing the really thing now that I can afford a real pair.  Is this a fad that will end once fall gets here or is it here to stay?  With that said, I'll probably buy a pair to wear in place of plastic flip flops all summer.  Birkenstocks are great for making a dressier outfit more casual.  But please don't read that as wearing Birks with a fancy dress, but more like wearing a nice pair of shorts & a button up with Birks instead of a pair of heels. You know, for those lazy nights/days that you'd rather walk over hot coals then put on yet another pair of heels.

What do you think? Trendable or fashion faux pas?

On Sunday, Sarah Jessica Parker made a stop here in Dallas to promote her new shoe line exclusively available at Nordstrom.  This is as close as I could get amounts the hundreds of fans all lined up to just to get a glimpse of her.  It was fight just to get the press to move a tiny bit so we could get a few pics.  I'm glad I stuck it out long enough to just be in the same room within a few feet of her.  She's just as lovely in person as you see on TV.  And rumor is, she's just as sweet as you would think she would be.

Oh and the shoes were nice as well.  I really want the ones that resemble the urban shoe myth.  SATC fans understand.  Now I can mark seeing SJP in person off my bucket list.

I have been in a search for what seems like forever to find a great pair of basic flats that go from day to night, work to out with the girls, or really just for whenever I don't feel like wearing heels. I've tried the Tory Burch Reva flats and it felt like I had a corset around my toes and they just weren't worth the money.  At least for me.  But low & behold, I was wondering around Target Thursday night and I found the cutest Sam & Libby flats with the sweetest bow detail.  And to my surprise, I had to go down a half size.  It's like they were made for people with fat feet.  I'm starting with the basic black, but if I can make it through the work day today, I will be going back for the navy & tan.  Maybe even the soft pink ones that are specific to Target In Store only.  Oh and did I mention they are only $29.99?  If I were y'all, I'd head down to my nearest Target to find these before everyone catches on!

I was originally going to blog about my lady crush Gwen Stefani's new clothing line DWP, but then I caught wind that every girls favorite fashionista, Sarah Jessica, released a few images of her new shoe line.  So of course, shoes outweigh jeans.  And its Sarah Jessica!  So far I like what I see.  I just keep thinking, how would Carrie wear these?  I'm slightly obsessing over the 1st & 2nd pair.  I wish I could say these were as affordable as her Bitten line, but prices range from $195- $485.  Which I guess is better than a pair of her made famous Manolo's, but still a much better price range.

I wish they would release the rest of the line so I can start planning & saving for which pairs I'm going to fight for.  The entire line will be available at Nordstrom starting Feb 28.  Mark your calendars ladies! And get those credit cards warmed up!
