HEAD, SHOULDERS, BOWS ON TOES

I have been in a search for what seems like forever to find a great pair of basic flats that go from day to night, work to out with the girls, or really just for whenever I don't feel like wearing heels. I've tried the Tory Burch Reva flats and it felt like I had a corset around my toes and they just weren't worth the money. At least for me. But low & behold, I was wondering around Target Thursday night and I found the cutest Sam & Libby flats with the sweetest bow detail. And to my surprise, I had to go down a half size. It's like they were made for people with fat feet. I'm starting with the basic black, but if I can make it through the work day today, I will be going back for the navy & tan. Maybe even the soft pink ones that are specific to Target In Store only. Oh and did I mention they are only $29.99? If I were y'all, I'd head down to my nearest Target to find these before everyone catches on!

PETER PILOTTO HAS FINALLY ARRIVED

The much anticipated Peter Pilotto line launched in stores & online this morning. I didn't get up super early like I did for the Phillip Lim or the Prabal Gurung lines, but I did make my way to my local Target to see if there was anything left. (BTW, sorry for the grainy pics, I used my iPhone to be all sneaky) And to my surprise, my Target had the whole line; sunglasses and all. It didn't however, get the coveted strapless dress (here), but what they did have is still fully stocked. The only piece I really wanted was the sunglasses. However, they were way to small for my round face. There was 1 shirt that i felt like I just had to have (see here), so I'm debating whether or not to go get it. Still really torn on if it's worth the money or not.

Even though I'm really so-so about this line, I can contend the fabric this time around is much better. It didn't feel like 100% (and then some) polyester like the Phillip Lim pieces. The swim suit & beach wears (i.e: rash guards) don't really make a lot of sense unless you live near a beach where you can surf. We're in Dallas. The closes place to surf, is an indoor surf park in Willowbend Mall. (Yes, you can surf a fake wave in a mall. Gotta love suburbia!) I think maybe, I'd be more into the bold prints if it was closer to summer time. It's hard to make a true hawaiian print work here in Texas, that is, unless you work for Trader Joe's. Overall, I give the line B+. Maybe I'll wait a few weeks to see what goes on sale and be able to get several pieces that I didn't know I wanted.

IT'S IN THE BAG. THE TARGET BAG THAT IS!

For a while I'be been slightly disappointed with the selections at Target, but making a trip there the other day, rejuvenated my love for all things Target. I've always loved Target's handbags because they are stylish, sturdy, and inexpensive. I like that I can get several bags and wallets for less than the price of 1 Coach bag. Don't get me wrong, I love all things Coach, but I don't like spending $300+ on a bag that I may carry a handful of times. But what I don't mind is spending $34.99 on a beautiful kelly green satchel or even $49.99 on a blue faux croc bag (OMG isn't that an amazing looking bag??). Which, can someone please find me that blue faux croc bag? It's not online or sold near me. Please?? I'll be your best friend!

LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN

Peter Pilotto for Target is this weekend ladies. Even though i'm sure most (if not all) of these pieces won't work on my, I can still imagine what I might look like in if I was 5'10" with legs for days in these looks. I'm too short and WAY to busty for most of these pieces, but maybe i'll be surprised. But in honor of this long awaited collaboration, here's 5 of my fav looks from this line. I just wish this top look looked this good on me.

{3.1 Phillip Lim x Target-sold out nationwide}

My name is Shannon and I have a shopping addiction. *sorry not sorry* So basically if you've been under a rock, or possibly cut off from communications with the rest of society, then you already know about the Phillip LIm collaboration with Target. Although the clothes weren't as amazing as I'd hope (mens's line was better), the purses were as swoon worthy as I'd thought they would be. I personally can't afford a real 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Satchel bag (ranging from $695- $1,200) then this was the best opportunity for any fashionably fiscal shopper to get their hands on one.

I did go online at 6:01AM, yes on a sunday, to try and snag the big black Pashli for Target bag. It was sold out in 1 min. But I did snag a medium purple satchel (not the Pashli like one) that is on it's way to my doorstep as we speak. Pretty much everything I wanted was gone within minutes, but when I went to my local Target, the entire line was there. Bags included. I was so happy I got the yellow mini Pashli, but I also snagged the BOOM! scarf and the BOOM! sweatshirt. Overall, I'd say this was a successful Target collaboration and I can't wait to see the next one.

LUST OR MUST: BLACK & GOLD

Imagine my surprise while scanning Rachel Zoe's new shoes at Neiman Marcus when I came across my new favorite shoes fraternal, more expensive twin. Now I see why I was drawn to them when I first saw them online. I adore black & gold, but I adore Rachel Zoe even more. Now if I had unlimited funds,I surely would purchase the Rachel Zoe version, but since I'm one month out from being laid off, the Target ones will do just fine. My wallet thanks you Target.

HOW SHANNON GOT HER GROOVE BACK

I'm pretty sure these lovelies from Target will help be get back into the groove of things. Even if they don't, they are still so pretty to look at. They are the prefect height and color to fit the growing trends of metallic and black & white structure. We saw theses trends coming down the red carpet this past Sunday at the Oscars and at the after parties. (See Charlize Theron, Nicole Richie, Naomi Watts, and the list goes on.)

I saw them last week online, but saw them in person on Sunday. I decided not to get them because, well, I don't know why. But I put them back and as soon as I got home, i immediately regretted not buying them. My friend suggested, "Shannon, if you are still thinking about them by this weekend, then buy them". So here we are, just a mere 3 days later and I can't stop thinking about them. To Target I go this weekend! By the way, they are only $29.99!

CORAL STRIPES

It may only be January, but I'm already thinking ahead to summer. Over the weekend Target, began pulling out their new spring/summer lines and I only have 1 complaint; I don't have enough money to buy it all. I did however purchase this amazing clutch. Okay, it's not actually a clutch, but a tablet case with a wrist strap. Potato Potahto. What I really like is it's the perfect size to carry everything. Sadly, I can't find the link online for you, but if you must (and I totes think you should) go to your nearest Target as soon as possible. It is only $16.99.

Prabal Gurung for Target

In a game of poker, Target would be the winner every time. They just upped the ante by introducing their next collaboration with Prabal Gurung. It makes me wonder if their Neiman Marcus collaboration was just an introduction to future endeavors. (If there was a Marc Jacobs collaboration, I think I would die) Prabal's designs are said to hit Sunday Feb 10. The mix of florals, brights, strappy heels & flats, is getting me super excited for spring & summer. You should head over to Elle.com to see all 80+ pieces. I'm so excited for the shoes, I can hardly contain myself!

Can we just take a moment and admire the beauty of these coats? I mean, gorgeous right? Would you believe they are all from Target? Yes, Target. The greatest store in the world! Target hit it right on the bullseye (ha!) with these coats. The long coats are $79.99 and the short fur coats are $49.99 Not bad if I may say so. I am officially obsessed with the long yellow coat and the cream fur coat. --cough cough size L cough cough-- These coats just make me wish it get cold, like yesterday!

I've been in such a blogging slump lately. I think over working my brain at my regular job has finally turned it in to mush. The only thing that makes me happy at this point are my floral pants & my sky high platforms. That and maybe a good nights sleep. Yes! Sleepy time dreaming of the many outfits I can create with these pants! Is it time for bed now?

Target + Neiman Marcus

I know it feels like Christmas comes earlier each year, but who knew it would be on October 16th! Target & Neiman Marcus unveiled their new collection that we have all been waiting "patiently" to see for what seems like ages. I can't help but wonder if this is going to be mass chaos like the Missoni collection created last year. However, it may be easier to navigate the collections since it be available

at both Target & Neiman Marcus.

Now there's about 50 items by 24 different CFDA designers and prices range from $7.99-$499.99. I've gone through them all, and these are the top items on my list. Really, if anyone wants to get me any of these items, well except the children's clothes, I'd be grateful. Really grateful!

Weekend Wrap Up

We had quite the random cold front come through Dallas this weekend. I wish it could stay longer, but I guess I'll just take this as a preview for what's ahead. The cold and gray weather sent most people to the stores to purchase any piece of warm weather clothing you could buy.

I of course, headed to my favorite places, GAP & Target, to see what goodies I could find. And sure enough GAP was having an additional 40% off the sale price & a sale on jeans. I managed to snag this women's military jacket for about $20! I've been looking for a jacket like this for quite sometime and i scored big time with this one. Target did not disappoint as well. I decided to take home these floral leggings for $12. Cute right? And now that we can wear casual clothes at work for the rest of the year, i'm excited that I can wear these more than just on the weekends.

Flower Power

Two things about this post: my lighting sucks and it's officially fall because by 7 pm it was too dark to put this new beauty on and take photos outside. So these pics will have to do for now.

But as you can see this is my newest dress from **drumroll please** Target!! Target is really kicking it up a notch with their clothing. And with how much I purchase from there, I really should be an official spokeswoman. But I digress.

This dress i picked up has a sister in a lighter cream version, but this darker gray version just spoke to me. She's super girly with the sleeves of flowers, but with the exposed zipper and sharper details hidden within the darkness of the dress gives it a slight masculine edge. This dress will be perfect once the temperature finally falls and I can wear it with tights and ankle booties. If only that cold weather would get here faster!

Boldly Go

Fall doesn't always mean dark & dull colors. It means no more 100 degree days! But that's coming from a texan. Fall needs to be bold. It needs to be fun! You can still work it in you darker jeweled tone & deep hues, but add POC's (pops of color that is) like pinks, blues or yellows to spice up your wardrobe. How about bold prints like polka dots, ikat or my personal favorite, leopard? Yeah? Sounds marvelous!

I've already snagged myself the long leopard sweater.

Be Bold: 10 Bags Under $100

Even though fall is just around the corner, I don't see the neon trend slowing down anytime soon. however I do see bold prints & details being added to the mix of neon. Here's a few of my picks, all under $100, that I would add the my fall wardrobe this year. #4, #8 & #9 are my favorite.

Playing Dress Up

I picked up some new dresses from Target that have been catching my eye. I had been stalking this white lace with lime green lining for quite some time. I liked the one with the orange lining and the white lining, but red hair doesn't mess well with orange clothing.

I also spotted this lovely little stripped number that is going to be great for fall. I can still wear it now, since they like to blast the air at work, but i'm thinking this will look especially cute shortened about 3 inches & with ankle boots. Possible the lace up boots I saw at Nordstrom with killer studs. But it will also look great with a sleek pair of black patent stilettos. There's also some floral skinny jeans & super frayed skinnies at Target too, but those will have to wait until they carry something other than a size 1 or 17. I am neither!
